TANJA

Tanja is a singer with one of the most distinctive voices on the Czech rock scene. She comes from North Moravia and her musical talent was already evident in her early childhood. She is the winner of the international competition Intertalent and has twice defended third place in the Golden Nightingale poll. As a student of the Ostrava Grammar School, Tanja fought her way to the finals of the TV audition for young talents as part of Hana Zagorová's Dluhy. However, she did not take the path of a pop singer. Radim Parizek, the bandleader of Citron, noticed her unique voice and introduced Tanja to the world of rock. It was he who set her on her professional career as a rock singer. Shortly afterwards, Tanja's first hits such as "Rock and Roll Flies Over My Head", "Where My Loves Are Going", "The Devil with a Halo" and others arrived. Tanja has recorded four solo albums and two solo EP singles. After the birth of her daughter Nikola, Tanja limited her touring for a while. She returned fully to the rock scene after fulfilling her maternal duties and performed with several rock bands. In 2009, she accepted an offer to perform in Miloš Forman's jazz opera Dobře placená procházka, which was staged at the National Theatre in Prague. Since 2013 Tanja has been collaborating with Citron again, as a guest, but also performing solo with her band. She has performed on the biggest rock stages and is a welcome guest at the most prestigious music festivals at home and abroad. Tanja is rightfully one of the most respected Czech rock singers.
